Beyz Interview Assistant Setup Tutorial
March 20, 2025(Last edited on: December 3, 2025)

This is a general tutorial to help you setup Beyz AI interview assistant.
If you're preparing for interviews and want real-time guidance during calls, the Beyz Interview Assistant can help you stay structured, calm, and clear while you speak. Many candidates struggle with remembering frameworks, managing nerves, or keeping answers concise, so this setup tutorial walks you through the exact steps required to get your assistant ready.
Before your actual interview, make sure your browser, audio settings, and assistant profile are properly configured. Once everything is connected, Beyz can listen to the interviewer’s questions and generate tailored, structured answers that match your role and background.
Step 1: Choose the Right Browser For Beyz
To get started, you must use one of our supported browsers. Here are the options:
- Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome
- Edge: https://www.microsoft.com/edge
- Arc: https://arc.net
Important: we cannot capture audio from your interviewer unless you use one of these browsers.
Step 2: Create Your Interview Assistant
First, Create your profile if you haven’t upload your resume yet

Create New Assistant in Interview Assistant Page

Click “Create New” to create a new interview assistant.
- Choose your profile and fill out the information to tailor AI responses.
- Click "Activate" to get everything up and running.
Step 3 (Optional): Personalize Your assistant
You can provide more information to help tailor the assistance.
1. In Assistant Setting, you can add more details about the interview/meeting

2. In Personal Profile page, you can add more details about yourself

3. In Cheatsheets page, you can create cheatsheets

Here, we have made a self introduction cheat sheet for you, and you can add some more personal cheat sheets, e.g. technical questions, personal stories for behaviour questions, and others you don’t want to forget during an interview.

You can add them to assistants inside the assistant page.

You can also create cheatsheets from answer suggestions by clicking the button highlighted.
[Important] Step 4: Get Your Assistant Ready
This step is essential before joining your actual interview**.** Beyz won't be able to record audio or offer real-time assistance without it.
- Join your meeting on any interview platform.
- Click Ready to Connect on Beyz and select your interview tab or window.

- Make sure to check "Also share tab audio" or "Also share system audio"
Test it without joining a interview
If you don’t have an interview right now, just use the Heygen video we provide to test it out! Click the Sample Video Link here and share the tab.

Step 5: Time to Use Your Assistant
When you’re in the interview:
- Click the Start Interview button to start capturing the interview question.
- The assistant will automatically generate answers when the interviewer finishes each question. However, you can also click the “Answer Now” button right before the interviewer ends their question to get more promptly answers.
- While you’re waiting for the answer, we’ve provided you with some phrases to buy yourself some time. Feel free to use them!
- Your customized answer is ready. It is your time to speak.
Practice Mode
Skip the long onboarding docs. Practice Mode is ideal for anyone looking to prep before a meeting or call, especially if you want to rehearse common questions or test your talking points.

We also provide a practice mode for you (as the interviewer) to ask AI questions that you are interested in and get tailored answers based on your personal profile. This is useful for interview preparation!
Note:
- Interview Mode only listens the interviewer side (the side you shared with the App)
- Practice Mode only listens your side (the microphone side)
Good luck on your interview!
Example Scenario: What Happens During a Real Interview
Imagine you're in a mock Google behavioral interview. The interviewer asks:
“Tell me about a time you had to resolve a conflict within a team.”
Once the question ends (or when you click “Answer Now”), the Beyz assistant automatically generates a structured response written from your perspective. A typical output might look like:
Sample Output:
- Situation: During a sprint planning session, two engineers on my team strongly disagreed on the technical direction for a new feature.
- Task: As the person responsible for keeping the sprint on track, I needed to help them reach alignment so the team could move forward.
- Action: I called a quick alignment meeting, clarified the requirements, and facilitated a short discussion where each engineer walked through pros and cons. I then proposed a hybrid approach that addressed both concerns.
- Result: Both engineers agreed to the compromise, we unblocked the sprint, and the feature was delivered one day early. The process also led us to adopt clearer review guidelines afterward.
Here’s another example based on a common deadline-pressure prompt:
Additional Example Prompt:
“Describe a situation where you had to work under a tight deadline. How did you manage it?”
Structured Response:
- Situation: Two days before a major product launch, I discovered a blocking integration issue between our backend service and an external API.
- Task: I needed to identify the root cause and deliver a safe fix before the scheduled release window.
- Action: I reproduced the issue locally, isolated it to a misconfigured API gateway rule, created a temporary patch, and coordinated with QA to run a focused verification cycle.
- Result: We deployed the fix within five hours and the launch proceeded on schedule. I later documented the incident and updated our checklist to prevent similar issues in future releases.
These first-person, structured examples help you speak clearly under pressure and follow the STAR format without overthinking your next sentence.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Interview Assistant
How Accurate Is the Assistant for Behavioral or Role-Specific Questions?
The assistant tailors answers using your uploaded resume and profile settings. It performs best for structured prompts such as behavioral, situational, and role-specific questions (e.g., SWE, data, PM, finance).
Does the Assistant Support Both Live Interviews and Solo Practice?
Yes. Interview Mode listens only to the interviewer’s side, while Practice Mode listens to your microphone. You can also browse real prompts in the Beyz Interview Questions & Answers Hub to rehearse before a real call.
Can I Use the Interview Assistant Together With the IQB Question Bank?
Yes. Many users prepare using the IQB Interview Question Bank to review FAANG-style behavioral and technical prompts. IQB pairs naturally with the assistant since it covers common patterns and company-specific question types.
What If My Browser Does Not Capture Audio Correctly?
Make sure you are using Chrome, Edge, or Arc, and that you selected “Share tab audio” or “Share system audio” when connecting. Without this step, the assistant cannot hear the interviewer.
Can I Test the Assistant Without a Real Interview?
Yes. You can use the provided sample HeyGen video or YouTube video to test detection, audio capture, and answer generation before your actual interview. This ensures everything works smoothly the moment your real call begins.
